Richmondleaders.com is a private, independent Web site whose goal is to promote civil discussion about issues that relate to leadership in the Richmond, Virginia region. We also provide articles, blogs, and other materials that explore emerging issues of local, national and global interest.
As we begin this quest, we have contacted leaders from business, academia, and the nonprofit sector in the hope of sharing different perspectives on a concept that often is discussed, written about, and trained for—but rarely understood.
As John Kotter once wrote in Harvard Business Review, “Most U.S. corporations today are overmanaged and underled. They need to develop their capacity to exercise leadership.”
Since Kotter wrote this in 1990, it seems as true as ever.
